Through words we are constantly connecting with our friends, our family, our neighbours. In a world that is growing fast, we might want to learn a new language in order to succeed in our work, enrich our travels or to enhance our personal development.
Arie was born in Jerusalem, is a Kibbutz member and father of 5. He is a highly experienced marketing manager in different fields. He co-developed the concept of „Derech HaSafa“ from the students's point of view as he is a committed student of the German language himself. During his studies in different schools and countries he became an expert in the many ways of learning a foreign language. Arie likes to travel to Europe and he loves to cook.
Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, Heidi made Aliyah to Israel. She never expected that Israelis would like to learn the German language – and now here she is: a gifted, patient teacher with a strong ability to relate to the individual needs of each student. Heidi studied teaching in Germany and has many years of experience. She is currently working with children, students, youth on shlichut and adults on different levels of the German language. Heidi is also a Jazz-musician and lives in Rehavia.
By learning a new language we connect to foreign cultures and peoples and we discover the history, the literature and the life-style of another world. We hear and speak new sounds and we also learn different ways of expressing ourselves.
Because the world is rich and complex, language lessons must also reach out beyond the simple study of grammar and pronounciation.
The modern world stresses the individual and it is understood that not everybody has the same learning style, but in order to succeed, the teacher has to adapt to the ways his student learns best.
Derech Hasafa has developed a modern and flexible teaching method, to meet these goals. We offer a concept that is designed to fit the needs and the pace of each individual student or group while at the same time familiarizing the student to cultural, historical or political matters in Germany.We introduce you to the new sounds and also to what is said „between the lines“. Our teachers grew up in Germany and therefore are familiar not only with correct German but also with everyday usage of the language.
The close relationship of German to Yiddish can be helpful for German-language students in Israel. Nevertheless, German is a language with a challenging grammar. We provide our students with a strong foundation, continuity and fast progress.
